Spring is here in East Tennessee and that means I am getting Down and Dirty in my flower beds with my Weeding Wonder Tool. I don’t know about you, but I find weeding much easier and more effective sitting down. And I will tell you a secret, I don’t mind getting dirty. I kinda like it!
Remember when I was Falling For Spring? Well, I didn’t get quite done with all my plans for weed prevention and the leaves didn’t get raked up and some projects were started and abandoned. I didn’t get half of the things on my exterior “to do” list done.
So here we have it, leaves all over and that weed. The green ground cover looking thing is the weed that could survive a nuclear bomb. I kid you not! I watched it all winter. It thrived like it was mid summer even when it was completely frozen during the ice storm. It just thawed right out and kept going. It is all in my flower beds and all in my yard!
So here I sit down and dirty among the daffodils digging up weeds with my Weeding Wonder Tool. Which is actually just a plain ole pry bar.
Look at this, I just ran it under this little patch of indestructible weed and served it up like a pancake. It really helps reduce the amount of weed root that is left behind.
Oh and it is not enough that this weed ( I really wish I knew the proper name) loves to cover the entire flower bed, it’s favorite place to grow is right up close and in the daffodils. The curved end of the pry bar gets right in there and digs it out!
This tool is just great in the garden. It can also be used to cultivate the soil which gets compacted during the winter. This is much easier that standing bent over with a digging tool. Much easier as long as you don’t mind getting Down and Dirty…
I sure don’t mind! It was so nice taking a break from the Staircase project and getting outside in the sun and dirt and of course visiting my little happy daffodils.
Now, I gotta go get a load of mulch…
