This year I grew some carrots!
And I saved them for a Jude visit.
Yep. Every little boy needs to pull a carrot out of the ground
for the first time, at least once in his little life.
This was a carrot for Jude….
You know I love to garden and grow things.
Even more than I love thrifting
and stenciling and renovating.
if nothing else comes out of the garden this year but this carrot.
all the effort and work will be worthwhile,
Because now Jude knows how carrots are grown
and he loves carrots…
We took the carrot for Jude
in the house and washed the dirt away.
What happened next really surprised me.
I handed Jude his carrot with the top still on
and he proudly ate his harvest.
Even though he saw it covered with dirt
and LOVE it.

He is a living doll. That is the key to getting kids to like vegetables.

That is so sweet. I have 4 little great grand babies & I am so hoping to create these kinds of memories for them. I love that your family (you & your daughter) is/are sharing such meaningful and thoughtful blog posts. It’s one of my top 3 blogs.
