Please tell me I am not the only one that deals with a clogged toilet at least once a week. And when I say clogged it’s usually backed up enough that a plunger doesn’t do the trick. Oh an don’t even get me started on how many times we have been in a hotel and have had to call the front desk for a plunger. So are you wondering exactly, How to Unclog A Toilet? Well, I’ve got the secret! It’s so simple I am smacking myself in the head for not knowing it! And better yet it only takes 2 steps!
How to Unclog A Toilet: Step 1
Ok, it may not be a secret but it’s something I had no idea about. It wasn’t until I was visiting my Mom’s house a few months ago when one of the kids clogged her toilet. I tried as hard as I could to plunge it and it still wouldn’t budge. I would think that it was unclogged and go to flush it and the water would fill all the way back to the rim.
So, annoying.
I called for my Mom and she told me to just wait until the water level went back down. Once it did she told me to go and get a bucket and fill it all the way up with water.
How to Unclog A Toilet: Step 2
Next, she told me to hold the bucket of water pretty high above the toilet and dump the water fairly fast in to the toilet. Remember you want the water level to have gone down first or else you will have a big mess.
And guess what? This method works every time I have used it. It’s so stinking simple! My Mom is pretty awesome and full of the best ideas like How to Wash your Windows like the Pros, have you heard that secret method? Check it out!

What?! This works?! Wow, I’ll have to think about this one more to figure out why it works. I’m definitely storing it in my memory banks in case I need it in a future emergency! 🙂

Yes it really does work. Many times I’ll give it a really good plunging and it will drain the water but it’s still stuffed. So I grab my bucket of water and “wallah” it works
