Confession TIME

#1 When I was a kid I scour the real estate section in the papers and evaluate each and every listing. I had this certain list of qualifications that I made which meant a house was or was not a sound investment. That all started when I was about 10.

#2 I have always re-decorated or re-arranged rooms in my mind. As soon as I am in a new room I start thinking … that would be better over there and this would be better over here and so on.

#3 I love going in to model homes and even new constructions that aren’t even finished. In fact I do this some what frequently. It kind of makes sense……. I guess.. MY BROTHERS always said I was NOSEY! 

 This past week I got to experience all 3 things during the Kings’ Chapel Parade of Homes Blogger Event hosted by Nancy and Dana of Forest Home Media.

Remember I’ve been talking about something I’m involved in that will benefit children from Make a Wish Middle Tennessee? Well this was it!

ANd it was AWESOME!!!!  

Come on along with me and SNOOP through some of the most amazing houses available. And don’t be afraid to use some of these ideas or  start rearranging furniture! 

 This room was one of my favorite rooms. I ADORE these chairs but Would you believe it if I told you these chairs were once bright ORANGE velvet?

This hood was AMAZING!!! I’ll take one please… seriously I’ll take one like right now! ANYONE?? 

On a serious note I really love the Christmas wreaths on the hood look and for that matter I love them on kitchen cabinets, and on the backs of chairs.

Have you found other creative places for wreaths this season?

The light in this room was so soft and enchanting. I love the blend of feminine softness and rustic.  

I have to have a ceiling like this in my house! So many ideas … so little time! 

The bathrooms in these homes were the talk of the parade. Stand alone tubs and huge walk in showers were in no shortage in these homes. 

But if indoor showers aren’t your thing you could always have one in your own personal courtyard. (this was my second favorite space right off of a master bedroom and bath this was my husbands DREAM).

In fact it prompted a little impromptu interview with my husband and the builder. The first question, “What Inspired this Space?” And his answer, “It’s always been a dream of mine to have my own private spa and courtyard!) Builder Randy Arnold of Arnold Homes LLC.

 I was stunned that my husband was interested in the inspiration. STUNNED AND IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN! 
Me on the other hand I didn’t even think to ask a question much less get a photo with the Award winning builder (this home brought in almost every award from the parade!)

Did I mention that I was there for a blogger meet up? Yes, that happened last Wednesday but I took my whole family back this weekend. 

I admit,  I’m a little obsessed.  Who wouldn’t be? I just didn’t get enough time in those beauties the first time! 

My family was kind enough to stick it out with me. They kind of likes exploring homes too! Especially the really big and fancy ones. 

 And talk about exploring… my kids found a secret room. My husband loved the outdoor courtyard space but his favorite room was a small office with a secret door that lead to a bunker ….I mean a storm shelter.  He’s been wanting his own shelter for a while… oh and he wants to build a bunker. But I’m not suppose to mention that because then everyone will know. Yes, we had this conversation last night about the infamous bunker… ( that doesn’t exist). 

Does anyone else’s husband plan out their future bunkers and rules surrounding said imaginary bunkers?

 Jude’s favorite rooms were a toss up between this tent bedroom and the loft playroom. The kids’ spaces in these homes were captivating. I loved seeing which rooms he flocked to. 

Gavin our 12 year old loved the courtyard but was very impressed by the garage door style screen door. It was basically a screen door that opened and shut like a garage door. It allowed for entertaining on the back patio while keeping the bugs out. 

Surprisingly, he also loved the “kids’ study room”. Maybe we need one so he’ll be more motivated to do homework.After we left I did my usual activity I took out the price lists and compared square footage and pricing and scoured over all the details. 
IS that WEIRD?

Surprisingly, there wasn’t much I would changed in these homes. Instead I walked away with tons of design ideas and I can’t wait to show you my interpretation.
