How to Kill Bacteria On Mattresses
I don’t know if I have ever mentioned this but I’m a bit of a clean freak. I honestly don’t know when this started, but it’s possible it manifested during the years I worked in Child Care programs. As teachers, we were responsible for disinfecting all the hard surfaces and furniture and hopefully, in the process, we were killing harmful bacteria.
Keeping all the hard surfaces clean was fairly easy in the classroom and even in our home, But what about furniture? Like mattresses, couches, and chairs? Those are a lot harder to clean! I’ve used small portable carpet cleaners on my furniture but they absolutely soak the upholstery and then we are left having to wait for them to dry for hours. I longed for a machine that would not only clean my furniture but would combat harmful allergens, pollen, bacteria, dust mite matter and microorganisms.
That’s exactly what the RAYCOP RS2 can do. I know you are wondering how this little lightweight machine can kill all those things and clean your furniture without using water or cleaners.
Unlike a regular vacuum or carpet cleaner, RAYCOP purifiers have a dual filtration system incorporating a HEPA filter which is proven to capture 99.9% of common allergens. Additionally, the combination of ultraviolet light technology, optimized suction and pulsating pads in RayClean Technology® is 3 times more effective than a standard vacuum at capturing allergens and outdoor pollutants.
Now, it’s time to put the RAYCOP RS2 to the test. I stripped my bedsheets and extended the long retractable cord (which is a really nice feature). I turned on the RAYCOP to the highest setting and followed the instructions. Which specifically state to not tilt the machine, instead keep it flat.
Keep in mind I am using the RAYCOP on a 3-month-old mattress. I did not know what to expect at all. I honestly didn’t think it would pick up much of anything. But keeping that in mind I was hopeful that at the very least the UV light would kill any bacteria that was on the mattress.
To my surprise, the RAYCOP RS2 picked up quite a bit of dust and fibers. The other side of the filter was just as dirty. I am excited to see how much our allergies improve after using the RAYCOP RS2 regularly and over a period of time. As allergy sufferers, I am willing to try anything to improve our symptoms and based on the RAYCOP testimonials, I have confidence we will see great results. You can get your RAYCOP purifier today at

Thanks for sharing! We need one of these in our house ASAP! We just went over all three of our king sized beds with a tiny UV light and it took forever then we vacuumed all three with our Rainbow Vac. The whole time I kept saying to myself…there really has to be a better way. (Way more info than you wanted, lol) BUT I really am glad to find this! Thanks Lesley! #allergiesstink 🙂

Laura Jo, You are so welcome. I honestly had no idea about UV and HEPA technology and how it can help with allergies until I read more about the RAYCOP and then I did see somewhere the smaller versions. I love how this one actually sucks up the allergens and dust and then also uses the HEPA filtration system and the UV light. And can you believe this was on a new mattress?!?!?

Hi, Lesley! Thank you so much for sharing! One of these would definitely be a blessing in my house. I have always wondered how to get a mattress clean. Vacuuming just isn’t enough. I’ve tried using carpet cleaning companies, but I never feel that it’s completely clean. Reading about UV and HEPA technology, I’ve discovered that this would be the answer to our allergy problems! I am so excited about what the RAYCOP can actually achieve! (Esp on a brand new mattress?!?) I can’t wait to get one myself! Thank you so much for sharing this technology with us, Lesley!! ????
