Welcome to the first annual Lazy Girl Home tour! If you are new to Chaotically Creative make sure you sign up to our newsletter and get your free fall watercolor printable ! We are so happy you are here! Are you ready to see what a Lazy Girl Home tour looks like? I can’t wait to see what my friends came up with because all week we’ve been teasing each other about what slackers we are! It’s been quite hysterical!
Let’s get this party started! I have to admit I am so not on top of decorating for the holidays. I mean I love the idea and all but when it comes to dragging it all out of the attic… I cringe!
In fact .. all the fall and halloween decor I bought last year… is still in that attic.
So when I heard my fellow slacker blogging friends wanted to get together and do a lazy girl fall home tour I was like… um yeah! That’s totally for me.
How much do you love these dishes? You can get them here from World Market
We are all just being honest here… we are the lazy bloggers because the super motivated ones are already blogging about Christmas.. in fact they may even be on Valentine’s day already.
But not us .. oh no… we are keeping it real..
So you want to know how to pull off a lazy girl fall tablescape?
It’s seriously easy!

Shopping List for Lazy Girl Tablescape
- Head over to your local grocery.. or even Walmart..
- Purchase three pumpkins.. either white or orange
- Buy several bouquets of mixed flowers
- Grab some mini pumpkins
Creating an Easy Fall Tablescape
- Cut the stem off and make a large enough hole so that you can insert a plastic container to hold water
- Scrape the insides out.
- I covered the inside with Vaseline because I really want to see if that will work
- fill the container with water
- add flowers
Here’s an alternative pumpkin planter using succulents instead of flowers that mom did last year.
This seriously was the easiest decorating I’ve ever done for the holidays. And everything I bought was from the grocery store!
Let’s face it I know us girls aren’t really lazy but we definitely are a little last minute… but I’m ok with that!
Now doesn’t this all look so perfect! Well it did.. for about 5 seconds!
Look we may be slackers and we may be able to pull off an amazing last minute tour but what we aren’t is perfect…
yep my kids have already raided the Halloween candy..
Airheads for breakfast, anyone?
oh and that fireplace looks pretty great right? Well what you don’t see is that the birdhouse is covering up a tile I busted out. Why did I bust it out? Well because I thought it would motivate me to re-tile it … that was a year ago.
So instead I painted the tile white and slid a piece of white tile in it’s place..
Don’t believe me…??
There you go!
Here’s a little glimpse of what real life looks like.. after all me and my buddies are queens of faking it happen..
I mean making it happen!

Here’s to not being perfect or punctual!!!
remember our lives are like yours.. full of chaos… but we wouldn’t have it any other way!
… now head over and enjoy the other lazy girls home tours!

LOL thanks.. it’s mainly lazy because it’s like the week of Halloween.. slacker may be the better word! And thanks I wanted to go with something different this year!

I love your tablescape. The dishes are so pretty. That is my kind of decorating.

It’s super easy and fast.. I’m loving grocery store flowers lately.

Love the real shots but that table is amazing, the pops of vibrant colors are just beautiful!

Thanks so much! I was pleasantly pleased at the selection at my local Kroger!

I love the pumpkin bouquet idea! Such a pretty tablescape, and I’m loving all the pretty colors! My husband would approve since it does not look remotely “Hot Topic”-esque. 😉 Haha!
Lesley @Chaotically Creative says
Thanks so much.. We are like you a house full of boys but they totally dig the pink. Maybe next year I’ll merge pink and Hot Topic together!

Looks good – I’ve got where I go for not the traditional colors anymore too. Love the brightness.
Lesley @Chaotically Creative says
Thanks Rosemary, I like to switch it up too! I’m not a big “fall colors” person so for us this is perfection!

SO pretty and colorful. I learned this trick last year and always forget about it… love the flowers in gourd trick. And your grocery store has MUCH cooler flowers than ours… #lazinessrules

I’ve been admiring the flowers in gourd trick for ages and then when our local grocery had white pumpkins and these awesome flower bundles I knew it was my year to give it a try. I spend under $60 for the three arrangements when you’d typically buy them for more than that a piece. And it was quick and easy! Now to get that Halloween tote out!

Forget lazy, I think it looks fabulous! Very festive and colorful which makes for a most welcome table without a doubt. I just shot pictures of my few fall decorations yesterday. I always have the best intentions and …..LOOK a squirrel!
You get the gist… Enjoy your Halloween week!

Ha Ha . .. I agree the table wasn’t “lazy” but my getting it done was defiantly slackerish at best. My husband actually loves holiday decorating.. not doing it but viewing it so he pushed me to get it done at the last minute.. He’s still sad the Halloween tote is sitting in the attic though!

Such a pretty tablescape! I am not a big fan of the rustic fall colors so bringing in the pink is so pretty! I love the plates too! Just found your blog via Cirbuanity and it is great! So happy I stumbled on it! Love how you made a Printable checklist!

Thanks so much! I am not a big fan of the traditional fall colors either. I like them in nature but in my home full of bright colors they seem to not work well! Welcome!
