Hi guys! It’s Lesley and I am so excited to show you my front porch and what I’ve added to it for fall!
But first take a look below at this amazing fall potted container that my best buddy ( not sure if she knows that yet)
Carmen Johnston of Carmen Jonston Gardens planted for me.
Now remember this summer she brought me up in front of her class to help plant some of her beautiful flowers. She gave us 10 Container Gardening tips ! Now the last time I saw her I told her that I’m stilling having issues with killing plants… like this Evergreen….
and she said that I had to drill holes in my pots. Yep, even the big ones! But she also said I can drill several little holes in to the bottom of my big pots. She said remember nothing likes to be held under water.
Before I transferred my beautiful Carmen Johnston custom container garden to my big black pots… I followed her instructions and drilled lots of little holes in the base with my new Ryobi drill.
Gorgeous right?
And if you want to know what any of those plants are … I have failed you!!!
You will have to go harass nicely ask… Carmen on her Facebook what they are… Sorry.
Now I’ve been gently watering (aka not drowning) my containers and they are properly draining so fingers crossed… and toes.. Yes I may want to cross anything I can considering my luck.
For fall this year and every year I keep it pretty simple. I add my grapevine pumpkins that I scored at Target several years ago. We usually put out a pumpkin or two.
I added a super quick Raven pillow that I seriously made in about 10 minutes from a drop cloth.
I added some bright orange flowers to our wreath and I think it needs a black and white bow too. What do you think? Bow or No Bow?
Every year I put these little pumpkin tin buckets on the steps but I usually add battery operated candles. This year I changed it up and I’m loving it. I found these mums on sale for less than 6o cents at Lowes.
Oh and in non fall related updates I finally added house numbers. Now the pizza guy will stop driving past my house! And Jude learned his address the minute I put them on the door. Who knew that’s all it would take.
The cats love our porch, they beg to be let in so they can walk through and be let out in to the garage. SPOILED… right?
And that’s it for the front porch!
Want to see what’s inside? I can’t wait to show you. Next, Thursday I’m on the Festival of Fall with tons of other AMAZING Bloggers. Come back and see my Table Decor for fall!

Lesley, I love your porch decorations and those pics of you and your cats are so cute. I will have to look for some of those tin pumpkin buckets at my local dollar store because they are soooo cute! And I would say that your beautiful wreath does not need a bow!
Lesley @Chaotically Creative says
Jane, In regards to the bow, I tend to always want to add one more thing and then BOOM I’ve overdone it. I will hold off on the bow then. Also, the pumpkin tins are from several years ago in the dollar section of Target! But I’m sure you can find similar ones out there.

The porch looks wonderful as well as your plants. The colors are soooo fall! And you’re friend is right about pots needing to drain properly. Most of the pots that I’ve found are really not plant friendly. Thanks for the reminder.
