I’m so excited to share with you the newest addition to our family eating area. I have been looking for that perfect piece to fill in a spot just behind our table. I wanted something that would be multi-functional and create a lot of storage.
Sauder is a furniture company that I have purchased from for years. The furnishings are so affordable and stylish. When searching on Sauder’s site I wasn’t sure if I wanted a dresser, sideboard, or open shelving. I went to Sauder’s Expedition Design to explore how their pieces looked in an actual room.While browsing on Sauder’s website I was quite surprised to see the variety of styles and colors that are now available. I couldn’t quite believe it when I discovered this tall bookcase from the Barrister Lane Collection. The Barrister Lane collection features several different pieces in a choice of salt oak finish or scribed oak finish.
The salt oak finish looks very much like the grey wash that I applied to my new painted lampshades in our eating area. After looking at the measurements online, measuring the space where my furniture would be placed, I knew that this tall bookcase would be perfect!
Assembling Sauder furniture is super easy. I’ve assembled many pieces from Sauder with a child by my side or climbing on my back. The detailed instructions, yes detailed, made this assembly a breeze. It was so easy in fact I was able to put Jude to work on sorting out the hardware. He really enjoyed this part. After all the hardware pieces were sorted, I assembled the piece on my own with just two tools. One thing I love about Sauder is the ease of assembly.
Within a little over an hour I had the entire shelf assembled and ready to be placed in our eating area. I always get so excited when I finish a project with ease. Lately, I’ve been having some not so successful projects notice the mountain of laundry on the dining room table. It made me so happy to accomplish a quick and seamless project. Assembly is really a one person job, it’s a breeze, however lifting and moving the piece may be a different story. Due to the size of this piece, I did need the help of my hubby to flip it over. I quickly installed the back panel and then he helped me again to stand it up.
This piece is super heavy and to insure that you don’t break anything, you will need help lifting it. We don’t need any injuries here ladies.
am so excited about having this tall bookcase in my eating area. My mind is racing with all of the things I can use it for. Cookbooks, dishes, photographs or baskets full of food can all be stored on these shelves.
This particular shelf even can with label plates and paper to make labels. Now you all know I am a big fan of labels. This room is feeling more and more complete each day.
