This post brought to you by FrogTape Brand Painter’s Tape. All opinions are 100% mine.
Have you ever purchased a home decor item from a thrift store with intentions of painting it? What if the surface is finished wood or another type of delicate surface?
Have no fear, FrogTape® Delicate Surface is the perfect tape for these types of projects. FrogTape® Delicate Surface can be used on fresh paint, wall paper, sheetrock, laminate and other delicate surfaces.
Why use FrogTape® for your home decor projects?
FrogTape® is the only painter’s tape with PaintBlock® Technology. PaintBlock is a super-absorbent polymer which reacts with latex paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape, preventing paint bleed. And who wants to do all that work just to have the paint bleed through? Not me.
Here’s a FrogTape how-to paint delicate surfaces
1.
Clean the object that you are painting with a soft rag. Insuring that the dirt and dust has been removed.
2.
Apply the FrogTape® Delicate Surface to the area you are painting. When applying around curved surfaces work around the edges and smooth the tape down firmly with your finger.
3.
You can create stripes by using several pieces of FrogTape® .
4.
Use a paint brush to apply paint to the areas of the decor item that are exposed.
5.
Let paint dry for a few minutes.
6.
Remove tape. For more stripes wait until paint is dry then apply new FrogTape® to the cover the stripes you already painted. Paint new stripes of a different color.
7.
To add wording to wood, simply print out a word in a font and size that fits your needs. Use your FrogTape® Delicate Surfaces to adhere the paper to your project. Take a pencil or ball point pin and trace the letters while applying firm pressure. Remove the paper and use a pen, paint marker or paint to trace over the imprint of the letters.
8.
Use your piece of decor to organize your space.
