How to make a Paper Candy Cane

When I was about 12 years old, Mom taught me how to make these super cool Paper Candy Canes. Not until this year did I remember them. Well, kind of remember them. You see, I remembered making them but, I completely forgot how to make a paper candy canes.

Thanks to some “Goggling” I figured out how to make them. Using the same technique as crafters use when braiding gimp to make lanyards, I was able to re-create this fun paper candy cane.

Supplies:

1. white twisted paper ribbon
2. Red paper ribbon
3. Holiday Decorative Floral Picks
4. Wire Clothes Hangers

After you braid the entire length of the ribbon, use hot glue to tack the ends off.

Bend the top of the candy cane using your hands to make the curve.

Add an accent bow and some pretty decorative picks to spice up your Candy Cane.

The paper candy canes are awesome as gifts!  They can be used on the backs of chairs, as ornaments on Christmas trees, or mantel decor.
