Holiday Tour Dining Room

You heard it, we got a new area rug from MOHAWK which couldn’t have come at a better time. Because I have a lot to say about rugs and pets. But mainly about rugs! Oh, and while we talk about rugs you get to see my holiday decor for our dining room. So let’s get started…

The dining room. It’s pretty right? It’s one of my favorite rooms! And it’s also my dog’s favorite room. But not for the same reasons.

You see this area right here? Well, he pretty much thinks it’s his bathroom. He was totally potty trained before we moved. We could let him out and he would go. But now we have no fence.

No fence means, he runs. Yes, he’s a runner. I walk him several times a day. But he’s easily distracted!

Like even a light wind will throw off his concentration.

As beautiful as this room is, it hides that deep dirty secret. And up until now, it really wasn’t a secret because you could see the remains of the accidents.

Why you ask? Because of the previous rug I owned.

Before our MOHAWK rug arrived I had bought a rug at a discount home decor store.

It was a gorgeous rug too! But it was bad… very, very, bad.

Personally, I prefer gorgeous rugs that like our MOHAWK

Why was it bad? Well, let’s just say we couldn’t clean it.

AT ALL!

In fact the more we tried, the worse it looked. And I am not exaggerating. It seriously was one of the most disappointing products I’ve ever purchased.

I’ve learned discount home stores are great for things like holiday table decor but not so great for area rugs. Let’s leave that to the professionals like MOHAWK. Agreed?

As pretty as that rug was, I’ll no longer shop discount home decor stores for rugs. But I still can shop there for placemats and napkins like these above.

Our new rug is beautiful which is a huge win. But the bigger win is that I can easily clean up accidents without compromising the look of the rug.

I guess chenille rugs are fine, if you have no pets, no kids, no spills but not in this house. Nope, we’ll be sticking with MOHAWK flooring from now on!
