HGTV Smart Home Nashville

 A few months ago I was invited to go to the blogger meet-up at the HGTV Smart Home in Nashville. I was so bummed because I couldn’t make it. There were so many cool chicks there including my friend Heather from At the Picket Fence. I was out in LA so I can’t completely complain. 

Good news! I was invited to the HGTV Smart Home Nashville 2014 Open House last week by Dana from Bella Tucker Designs  and Forest Home Media. I had my new local blogging friend Deneen from Dreaming in Color come along with me.  

Boy am I glad I got to see a real life HGTV home. I have been a HUGE HGTV fan for so many years. I was so excited to see this magnificently intelligent home built by Carbine and Associates.

 Welcome to the smartest house in Nashville. When we walked up on the English cottage-style  house the first thing I noticed were the two lights that have burning flames. Talk about ambiance..

As you enter the home there is no way you can ignore the fact that no detail was spared.  The entry way is quaint but spacious enough to greet guests as they walk through the door. 

To the right of the entryway you enter the Master bedroom. I have been considering a dark color for my bedroom and seeing Foothills by Sherwin Williams executed beautifully in this room has solidified my decision. Although the color is dark the use of all the light furnishings and the tall windows create a perfect color palette. 

I mentioned this house was smart, right? This bedroom has features that can be controlled by either the touch of a remote or an app on your smart device.

Lower and raise the shades with a touch of a button. 

Control the security system with out moving a muscle. (okay maybe just your finger muscle)

Heat up your shower without even leaving the bed. 

Yes, that’s right you can set your specifications for this shower with the use of a remote. Now that’s smart! 

After exiting the master bedroom you are lead down beautiful stairs to a full basement. What you see in the picture above is just one side of the basement. But it happens to be my favorite side. 

Singer or not… jam out on the stage and have fun watching yourself on the projection screen on the opposite side of the room. Yep, that’s right there’s a tiny camera hidden in the ceiling to capture your performance. 

Besides a full recreational room, the basement features a full bath, an exercise room, outdoor living space and plenty of extra storage. 

The basement was by far my favorite part of the house. I could just live down there. The loft style feel and the incredible concrete floors were just my style. And although I don’t sing or play a musical instrument I would still totally “jam” out down there!!

Did I ever tell you I love the color navy. I see navy as a neutral like a pair of your perfect blue jeans. These cabinets were stunning in person. To see more pictures of this super smart kitchen click here.  

The adjacent living room was just as gorgeous as the kitchen. My all time favorite furnishings in the entire house were the navy blue sofas.  I’ve been wanting a pair for my house for a long time now. 

My kids would have a hard time deciding who would get this room, if we were to win this house. It has to be the best bedroom in the home. Look at that space near the window. What kid wouldn’t love that?

There’s a space for everyone in this house. The kids would enjoy this media room that sits between both bedrooms. It’s the perfect size to kick back with a few friends and watch TV or play some video games. 

Take some time and explore the rest of the HGTV Smart Home.. there’s so much more to see. I didn’t even get to tell you  about the butler’s pantry or the car that comes with the house… 

Oh did I mention that I this house was up for grabs??? Opps…

Since I live in Nashville I really didn’t want to tell ya’ll this one part. I mean seriously I want to win this thing myself !
