Yesterday, we got news that the weather was supposed to be more like Fall . There’s a cold snap coming through! Yay, we all rejoiced.
I stepped outside to a muggy 98 degrees and thought hmmm… maybe the “cold snap” will be here in the afternoon. Nonetheless, the kids dressed in their normal summer attire and we were off to school.
Every afternoon I have the luxury (I’m being serious and sarcastic) of sitting in my car for exactly one hour and a half to pick up my precious angels from school. I actually love to do this, seriously. But what I don’t love is when I’m sitting there for that long and my thermostat says it’s 111 degrees outside. What I hate even more are the lies these weather people tell! Let’s face it … there’s no sign of colder weather…. no sign at all.
Since we know that fall weather is probably not going to be here in the near future, we can at least enjoy the thought of it inside our house… while blasting the air conditioner.
We can sit in front of our beautiful new fireplace and stare at the faux wood logs. We can imagine it’s cold enough to light them but know deep in our hearts that ain’t happening until December… possibly even January.
In all seriousness, I love the warm weather and I love Fall. Even if it’s technically hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk! I also love fall decor! This year we decided to decorate a lot more rustic as opposed to last year’s bright and colorful decor.
The fall mantel decor is made up of 4 key elements. Twine pumpkins, burlap runners, fall floral sprays and greenery sprays. It was that simple to create!
As you know it’s definitely a FAUX fall here in Memphis but I have friends from all around sharing their fall mantels today. Click on the links below to discover some more incredible Fall Decor!
