Billy Buttons by Department 56 always put me in a happy place. I just love them with their little red knit scarfs and pom poms. Oh and did I mention the carrot nose and button eyes? Soooo cute! We collected a few several years ago and they are just one of those things that are timeless. Although Billy’s are no longer in production, they are available on e-bay.

The Billy Button ornaments are adorable. We have an entire little flocked tree devoted to our collection.

Now for the burlap. Burlap is great for Holiday decorations.
It started with spying these giant red felt ornaments at The Dollar Tree. I just knew I could put these to use somehow. Then I ran across this picture of an adorable burlap Merry Christmas sack by,This is Pretty. Remembering all those sacks my dad gave me, I came up with display on the front porch by the door.
I discovered that washing and drying burlap sacks give them this soft crumbled look to scrump around items such as our Can Lid Christmas. Also notice the little shiny red balls. They are called stem balls, a rather interested name. Anyway you can find them at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby and they look like this…
They each have a wire and are all twisted together like a bunch of balloons. I untwisted a bunch and stuck them into the burlap.
Here fresh greenery is bundled and tied with burlap strips. The stem balls were inserted and the wrapped around the back of the ornament.
