It’s kind of funny when people find out you are a blogger they automatically assume you must be amazing at all things crafty, DIY, decorating and more. It wasn’t very long after we moved into our new home that my neighbors found out I was a blogger and asked me to host a baby shower for my sweet next door neighbor. “We’ve seen your blog, you’re so creative.” Ugh, they got me. Now I had to come up with something cool and creative to impress, right? So being in Memphis the birth city of Rock and Roll I landed on a Rock and Roll Baby Shower theme.
Before we go too much further, let me explain about being “found out”. For the record, I do not consider myself overly creative, just because I’m not afraid to put everything on the internet doesn’t mean it’s great. But let me just tell you these ladies here in this neighborhood could all be incredible bloggers, they are some of the most creative party throwers I’ve ever met. In fact, most of this party was put together with the help of my fellow neighbor, Jenny and other talented members of our community.
Let’s just say this “blogger” just made a good “host’ this time. I’m so thankful for all the help!
Jenny’s son was given the assignment to go steal borrow his Dad’s guitar for the party prop. I think it made a really nice touch leaning against my old radio on the fireplace.
Jenny had these adorable onesies made by a local maker. We love supporting other female-owned businesses here in our community.
Did you notice the little replica guitars on the fireplace? They were both made by a family friend. Both guitars are replications modeled after Baby Jude’s dad’s guitars. Did I mention that the dad is a singer/guitarist and the momma loves concerts (like she’s admitted she’s obsessed).
Jenny also made this simple garland. If you want to recreate it, just rip pieces of fabric about 18″ long and tie them on a string. She made several of these and we used them throughout the house.
I will admit I actually did put together the treat buffet. And I had to get really creative here.
I found out very fast that candy buffets can be really expensive.
To keep costs down I used these mini donuts to fill up the tall glass containers and white cheddar popcorn to fill up the paper bags.

I ordered custom sprinkles from a cool company called Neon Yolk I found on Instagram. Yes, custom sprinkles are a thing.
I followed our Easy Marshmallow Sprinkle Pops recipe to make the pops and pretzels (it’s the same concept).
Baby Jude’s Lovey (Granda) made this adorable Teddy on a Motorcycle diaper cake. I’m telling you guys, they thought I was creative? They put me to shame!
Needless to say, it definitely takes a village to throw a baby shower as it also takes a village to raise a child. We are so happy to be in a neighborhood that pulls together to welcome a new baby into the world and that will be here to help raise him up. Click here to see more about the Hey, Jude sign.
~ It’s been a year since we threw the Rock and Roll Baby shower. Baby Jude is already running around the neighborhood and with my Big Jude. His Mom used all of his baby shower decor to throw a Beattle’s themed 1-year birthday party it was adorable and SUPER CREATIVE!
