Disclosure: This post is brought to you in collaboration with nuLOOM. I was provided the beautiful Vintage Minta Rug in exchange for a review of my full and honest experience.
It’s been nearly a month since we moved into our new house. We had an adventurous summer with the best trip ever to the Virgin Islands! We spent over two months in hotel rooms and lived in our new house for about two weeks with virtually nothing but air mattresses and a cooler. I’m not complaining… trust me. I would have slept on the floor if it meant we could get out of those hotels! And speaking of floors, in our new house, the entire downstairs has engineered hardwood floors which we love. They hold up so much better than our solid hardwood in our previous house.
You can only imagine how much echoing is going on in this house right now! But we are getting there. The first thing we did was purchase some living room furniture. Only the sofa has come so far. Then we started shopping for rugs. Now get ready to GASP! I almost… ALMOST…. paid $2500 for an 8 x 10 rug. I was tired and losing my mind and just wanted to get everything over with. But then when the grand total for this space was added up I came to my senses and realized I could get like 5 rugs for that price! And I did!
The rug we selected for the great room is a 9 X 12 synthetic blend from nuLOOM. I was a little leery about how nice it would be because the cost was so affordable for such a large carpet. The Vintage Minta Rug is only $469 can you believe it! Not only is this rug HUGE but it is extremely thick and easy to clean. Trust me, we’ve already had pet accidents and spills! And it is comfortable! That means Jude can sit on the floor and play without getting itchy. He hated sitting on our other wool rugs! Not anymore!
We’ve talked about the size, quality, and price now let’s discuss the style. This rug is GORGEOUS, it’s what I call a vintage style rug. It’s obviously not a vintage rug but it has the look and feel of one. These rugs almost look distressed but they look new at the same time. I know that’s an odd concept to articulate but they are incredibly beautiful and look new even though they have that aged look to them.
Online it looks like the color of the Vintage Minta is black and cream in person the rug varies depending on the light. Sometimes it looks dark gray and sometimes it looks blue. The fading gives the rug a much more casual and comfortable look than a formal look which is exactly what I was going for. In fact, I love the vintage looking rugs so much, I am going to use them in each room. Here are a few of my absolute favorites!
