Mom and I talk everyday. I know what projects she’s working on and she knows every detail of mine. And although we talk everyday and live only two hours apart we don’t see each other very often.
But when we do… you better believe we make the most of it.
You see… we are mother and daughter but we are kind of like sisters .
I am the only girl of 5 kids. Mom lost her sister at a very young age. Out of 4 grandchildren Mom only has 1 granddaughter and she lives in Texas … frown face.
This weekend was like every other… we were SURROUNDED by boys…. again. But in all that masculine glory we always find a way to make things sweet and pretty.
Like Mom’s Victorian office. (read about her chair cover here)
I wish I could have taken every last one of you down to Harriman, Tn to see this amazing VINTAGE OFFICE space.
Mom’s whole house and mine for that matter are in complete Chaos. Except for this one room…. it’s perfection!
You see, I am remodeling a 5 year old foreclosure and Mom is renovating a 100 year old Victorian house.
Every thing is a construction zone… except for this room… it is a little piece of heaven.
This space is Chaotically Creative Co.’s headquarters. … seriously it is. Our business is registered right there. And honestly a lot of business goes down in that very room. Like filling all of those Fix A Bra orders and working on the books … oh and blogging.
But besides all the technical stuff Mom has a nice space to sew and craft… now all she needs is the time to do it.
And all of those things take place a midst beautiful vintage and vintage inspired decor.
Like my great grandmother’s glasses… vintage perfection.
And then there are the vintage inspired pieces like Mom’s office furniture. I can’t tell you had absolutely AMAZING her refinishing job looks in person. It really looks like she bought this furniture just like this in a high end store.
And the Vintage Owl Lamp regardless how you feel about the moss ball or owls… this lamp was gorgeous… And HUGE… really…. really HUGE!
And then we have this little number. MOM BUILT THIS!!! It’s very similar to her Cat Center but serves a different purpose. Obviously.
And now for a moment of silence… no not for the bowl of randomly placed oranges….
all who truly love home decor must take a moment of silence for this wall stencil…. (and a moment for the Mom’s patience.. it died somewhere in the middle of this project. )
Isn’t it lovely? Isn’t it beautiful?
It’s one of those times where you just think “can I use this everywhere in my house? Would it be too much?” because it is really just that AMAZING!
This feather stencil creates so much movement and whimsy I could have cried.
but instead of crying I laughed…
because in a house full of boys there’s always something to laugh about.

I love that office too. That is my favorite thing you ever put on the blog. The walls, furniture, color..everything about it. You two are so fortunate to have each other.

OH MY GOD I THOUGHT THAT EPICNESS WAS WALLPAPER!! Your mom is the most patient women I know! It is amazing though, results like these are so worth the effort! The rest of the room is amazing too! I love your great grandmother’s glasses, that is just the sweetest touch.
