Truth is, I like to be a little different.
When I spied the ruffles of this old wedding gown peeking out of a pile of stuff at my local thrift store, I knew we could make beautiful music together. My initial thought was make some sort of lace window treatments for the office, but that did not translate well. I just had to have these ruffles somewhere in my office. This is how our Music Sheet Bouquets came to be.. I know, kinda lovely, kinda creepy at the same time, right? This dress was homemade and when the scissors were in my hand, I hesitated to cut. I just hated to cut it up.The lining of the dress and some of the lace was dry rotted. So I talked myself through it and cut off the ruffles. Ouch!
A very old disintegrating music book was a 99 cent find at a local thrift shop.
Here we have the start of something pretty and different for the top of our Office Furniture Refurbish.
Music Sheets Bouquets!
Carefully torn out sheets and glued together covering the torn edge with the fresh edge. It took me awhile to do this because the words to the little songs were sooo cute!
A little accordion folding, gathering and taping the bottoms together.
Then the ruffles and a little greenery added.
Next the Music Sheet Bouquet box is added on top of our Office Furniture Refurbish project.
I just love the look and the texture! It has the same effect of a floral arrangement with a vintage shabby twist.
Hey! I still have a lot of lace and ruffles to create some more lovely’s!
