Cilantro, the leaves and stem from the coriander seed, is an herb that I prefer to grow on the window sill instead of outside in the garden. It is beautiful and adds life and energy to the kitchen, not to mention that it is very tasty. Being able to snip a few fresh sprigs for your dish right from the container is oh so wonderful. Here’s how to do it…
- Container
- Organic Potting Soil
- Stones for drainage
- Seeds
- Bottled water or rain water
- Plastic wrap
- Large rubber band
Place the stones in the bottom of the container for drainage.
Place the dirt on top of the stones.
Plant the Coriander seeds in the dirt.
Press the seeds into the potting soil with your fingers. Water the soil until it is moist.
Cover the container with plastic wrap and secure with the rubber bands. Very quickly moisture beads will began to form just like Growing Veggies From Seed. When the seedlings are pushing against the plastic wrap it is time to remover the plastic. Just keep them watered and turn every day or so as they will grow toward the sun. In a few weeks, you will have fresh cilantro to enjoy and share. Coriander also has some very interesting health benefits.

Hello Jean, don’t you love it when you snip some off and it grows back bigger and fuller?
